Can I still park overnight at Scarborough North Bay or Sandsend?

No — and it is now permanent. A new guide explains the ban on motorhomes and campervans between 11pm and 7am: how it began as an 18-month experiment in November 2024, what the council's own report says about the 3,000 responses and where the vans went instead, and what it does not cover.

I'm going to the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC — where does the van go?

There is an official campsite on the NEC car parks from 12 October. The page lists this year's prices, pitch size, arrival times and what is and is not on site (toilets and waste disposal, but no showers), taken from the Club's own page.

Where can I see what has changed?

Here. This page lists everything new, newest first, each under the question it answers.

I'm going to a festival or a show in a van — where can I park and stay?

Event pages now answer that for eight events in the Lake District and Peak District, from Matlock Bath Illuminations and the Chatsworth Christmas Market to Kendal Calling. Each one says what the organiser allows, with the source and the date we read it — and says plainly where we could not confirm something.

Can I hear from you before the app is out?

Yes. There is now one email a month: a trip worth doing, one rule explained properly, the events to plan a van around, and any place that has newly said yes to campers. It is a separate list from the launch list — you only get it if you ask for it.

How do I stop the emails?

Every email carries an unsubscribe link. It asks you to confirm once, then deletes your address. The link holds a code, not your email address.

Who holds my email address?

The privacy notice now names both companies that store it for us: IONOS, who host the site, and Cloudflare, who hold our nightly backup. The backup is encrypted before it leaves our server. The notice used to name IONOS only; that was incomplete and has been corrected, with the date.

What would a whole week away actually look like?

Seven night-by-night trip plans — the NC500, the Lakes, Cornwall, Snowdonia, Pembrokeshire, Northumberland and the south-coast ferry ports. Every leg is computed on our own road router, and every night says what kind of stop to look for and what our map holds nearby.

Where can I actually stop on the way?

The map went live: search any of 40,000 UK places, get a real road route, and see the campsites, service points, water and LPG along it. Every pin is honestly labelled unverified until somebody confirms it.

Am I allowed to sleep there?

Plain-English guides to the rules — wild camping in each nation, car parks, laybys, seafronts, pub car parks, and the orders and byelaws behind the signs. Every guide shows its sources and the date it was last checked.
