Kendal Calling in a van
Lowther Deer Park, near Penrith, Cumbria. A four-day music festival in the deer park at Lowther — despite the name, it is near Penrith, not Kendal.
Thursday to Sunday.
What the organiser says about vans
- The 2027 dates are 29 July to 1 August. [1]
- For 2026 the festival required a Live-in Vehicle ticket for any campervan or motorhome, on a 7 m by 5 m pitch. An awning or one tent was allowed if it fitted the pitch; a vehicle too big for one pitch needed a second ticket. [2]
- For 2026 both live-in vehicle fields sold out. [2]
- The 2027 live-in vehicle details were not published when we checked. Do not assume the 2026 rules or sizes carry over.
Numbered points come from the sources listed below. Points without a number are our own advice, not the organiser's.
Our plain advice
If you want the van on site, the live-in vehicle ticket is the thing to buy first — it went before the festival did in 2026. Measure the van, including the bike rack, against the pitch.

England: no right to sleep on access land, and honeypot car parks are heavily managed — but the pub and farm network here is one of the best in Britain. More on The Lake District →
